I spent most years employed within the hospitality industry in various food & beverage venues. Some of these include Mc Donald's, The Stock Exchange Hotel & Accor Hotels. I not only found passion in learning how to serve drinks/food but I built a lot of customer service skills, which quickly became one of my favourite aspects working within the industry. I made a decision to challenge myself and change career paths. I was given an opportunity to work within a Indigenous Law Firm, based in Sydney. I jumped at this opportunity and relocated. I became more educated on my culture as an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander woman, and the importance of First Nations Matters in Australia. I'm currently employed at Brisbane Indigenous Media Association, as a receptionist. BIMA is an Indigenous country radio station located in West End. Being employed here I've been shown many skills to further expand my knowledge & understanding within administration and community radio. This includes being involved in obtaining a certified course in screen & media, handling pay roll & wages for the organization and managing the businesses social media platforms.
