I am a proud Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander woman. My mob is Gamilaraay, Wuthathi & Meriam. I was born in Maroubra, NSW. I'm currently living & working full-time in Brisbane, QLD. Throughout the years within the workforce, I spent most of my time employed within the hospitality industry. I was lucky enough to work within Accor Hotels, which is one of the largest running hotels around the world. After many years within the industry, I made the personal decision to change career paths and I shortly relocated to New South Wales where I landed a role working within Administration at an Indigenous Law Firm, Terri Janke & Company. Within this role I learnt a lot about my own culture, first nation current affairs and began to start building my own strong connections with mob. With that experience I applied and got a full-time position employed for 3 years at an Indigenous Radio Station in West End known as Triple A Murri Country, my main role was receptionist however, during that time I completed a certified course in Screen & Media which gained my experience and confidence to speak on-air, do voice-overs and filling in for radio programs. Throughout my time at Triple A, I worked alongside building up the social media platforms & marketing for events. eg. Brisbane NAIDOC Ball, Original 100 & Brisbane Blacks Music Festival. I am currently employed in a 100% Indigenous owned and operated organization, Toni Janke Productions. currently as the Communications Manager.
