Dr. Emily Rickman is an astronomer for the European Space Agency based at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, home to the mission and science operations of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Having published more than 60 refereed papers in high-impact journals across a broad scope of research interests from discovering and characterizing exoplanets to instrumentation, she leads an active research profile including being the Principal Investigator of a medium JWST Cycle 3 program to assess the atmospheric properties of giant planet analogs and is a member of the JWST Telescope Scientist Team for high-contrast imaging. In addition, Dr. Rickman is the documentation lead for the Space Telescope Instrument Spectrograph (STIS) on board the Hubble Space Telescope and provides expertise for technical reviews as well as user support as an HST Science Operations Scientist.
