Awarded a competitive fellowship with the European Space Agency at the Space Telescope Science Institute throughout the launch period and commissioning of the most powerful space telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope. This included being the principal investigator of a commissioning plan for JWST/NIRSpec, alongside carrying out research in the area of exoplanets. Selected for a competitive program for NASA/JPL's inaugural astrophysics mission design school, which seeks to teach the process of developing a hypothesis-driven robotic space mission in a concurrent engineering environment while getting an in-depth, first-hand look at mission design, life cycle, costs, schedule and the trade-offs inherent in each.I was elected as Project Manager to lead the organization of the mission design team to develop a $1Billion, probe-class, space-based ultraviolet mission. The hypothesis-based science objectives of the mission were based on the 2020 Astrophysics Decadal Survey to target priority science questions of interest to NASA and the worldwide astrophysics community. Our early mission study concept response to the NASA Science Mission Directorate's Announcement of Opportunity ("2023 Astrophysics Probe Explorer") included designing the science traceability and working alongside JPL's Team-X to develop instrumentation and engineering requirements for our mission.

Worked with Dr. Damien Ségransan on a large survey to direct image exoplanets around young stars in the mid-infrared. High contrast imaging survey of nearby stars with debris disks to detect and characterize giant planets in wide orbits, including 120 nights on VLT/NACO. Also a member of the SPHERE-SHINE consortium with 200 nights on VLT/SPHERE.Principal investigator of 5 successful observing proposals on the VLT with SPHERE on direct imaging and spectral characterization of ultra-cool companions to Solar type stars, as well as atmospheric characterization and orbital monitoring of brown dwarf companions from radial velocity surveys.Co-ordinator of the long period radial velocity exoplanets search using the CORALIE spectrograph on EULER in La Silla, Chile, looking for giant planets and brown dwarfs to image using VLT/SPHEREAs part of my Ph.D., I gained over 50 nights of experience observing on large telescopes (NACO/VLT at Paranal, Chile, and EULER at La Silla, Chile).

I was awarded funding by the competitive Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) for a summer research position between the third and fourth year of my Master's degree.The project involved investigating the feeding of cavity-polariton states with multiple lasers to determine theoretically if photons injected by a second laser can generate polaritons that substitute those participating in the pre-existing polariton flow. The project involved extensive use of Mathematica and presenting findings to a small audience, as well as a written report and presenting a poster.
