The last few months of 2023 I was fortunate enough to spend my time living and working in Sydney, Australia. I had the absolute pleasure of working for Ranger Jamie Tours, Australia's number 1 excursion and incursion specialist. In this role I had the privilege of working extensively with school groups, creating memorable and immersive learning adventures for students all across Sydney. In my role as a ranger, I conducted tailored tours that catered to various age groups, ensuring that the content was both educational and captivating. Through interactive discussions, informative sessions, and hands-on activities, I fostered an environment where students could actively participate, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of Sydney's fascinating Geography, History and Science.An average week as a ranger ranged from navigating Sydney's CBD with 30 kindergarten children teaching them about the First Fleet. Then exploring through the Royal National Park on a coastal walk discussing geomorphic processes. While ending the week at Symbio Wildlife park, teaching high school students about the adaptations of Native Australian animals, of which I'd just been introduced to myself!
