I am a highly motivated and driven member of the Energy Queensland Substation Design and Engineering team. I am constantly striving to seek out new opportunities to develop both professionally and personally, and aspire to lead by example through my actions. I have excellent time management, communication, prioritisation and negotiation skills as a result of my broad corporate exposure to date, and pride myself on my ability work effectively as an individual and member of my team to add value to the business.I am a BSc/BE (Hons) graduate with majors in electrical engineering and physics. I am a project estimator, responsible for the delivery of professional estimating services for the Energy Queensland Substation Portfolio.I was previously a substation design engineer working in the South East design team, responsible for the delivery of safe, effective and efficient design solutions for High Voltage substation design projects. Prior to my time in the substation design and engineering group I was a graduate electrical engineer at Energy Queensland, consisting of 6 month rotations across the business. In my fifth and final rotation I worked in DC power systems on the neighbourhood battery trial. I had previously completed rotations in subtransmission planning, substation design, network operations and engineering field support.I took part in the Australian Power Institute (API) Powerful Women in Leadership Program (PWLP) in 2022 where I gained valuable experience as both a mentor and a mentee alongside other women in the power industry. I am a passionate advocate for women in STEM and encouraging flexible working arrangements to support families balance their careers and personal lives. In my fifth and final rotation I worked in the DC Power Systems team on the neighbourhood battery trial. I completed the Shell Assessed Internship program as part of the maintenance engineering team at Shell QGC from 2019 to 2020. I completed the ICE Engineering Student Vacation Program from November 2018 to February 2019, which consisted of four major projects related to instrumentation, control and electrical engineering processes. Projects were focused on End of Line (EOL) monitoring, High Pressure (HP) fuel gas control, and facility lighting efficiency. These projects involved:- Working with various members of the ICE team and other teams in the business unit;- Independent and collaborative work;- Using and manipulating engineering documents (P&IDs, PFDs, Loop Diagrams, etc);- Exposure to the Safety Instrumented System (SIS), Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs);- Stakeholder and vendor engagement;- Risk assessment procedures (HAZIDs, HAZOPs, HSE Procedures); and- Documentation of engineering processes.Multiple (3) visits to the Curtis Island APLNG Downstream Facility were also undertaken to develop the major work fronts and gain exposure to the plant.Outcomes of the program were presented to management and engineering team members from the Australian Business Unit East and West.After the vacation period I worked for ConocoPhillips alongside my studies, and in my role I extended some of my work on the above projects.
