I participated in the Energy Queensland graduate program, which is a three year program with 6 month rotations. In my fifth and final rotation I worked in the DC Power Systems team on the neighbourhood battery trial. My key responsibilities in this role included:- Undertaking hands-on training and development to obtain technical expertise in battery energy storage systems- Contributing to the successful management and roll-out of the neighbourhood battery trial- Engaging with key stakeholders internal and external to Energy Queensland to ensure project solutions are fit for purpose- Representing the project team internally and Energy Queensland externally to promote the neighbourhood battery trialPrior to this, I completed rotations at Energy Queensland in the following teams:- Engineering Field Support (August 2022 to January 2023)- Network Operations (February 2022 to July 2022)- Substation Design (August 2021 to January 2022)- Subtransmission Planning (February 2021 to July 2021)I worked on various tasks within these rotations including strategic planning reports, designs for program of work substation projects, network fault investigations and technical team briefs, all of which have greatly advanced my technical skillset. My breadth of experience thus far with Energy Queensland has provided an excellent platform for me to focus on my professional development in the pursuit of becoming a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).

I completed the Shell Assessed Internship program as part of the maintenance engineering team at Shell QGC from 2019 to 2020. In this role, I completed the following tasks:- Used the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other business systems to update and create maintenance data.- Undertook a project which was focused on Change Requests (CRs) and how to assign estimated levels of effort to these requests through developing new Ways of Working (WoW) for the maintenance team.- Presented project outcomes to relevant stakeholders and management. - Created dashboards to assist with data visibility and modified business systems to enable ease of data capture for frequent users.- Undertook a field trip to Chinchilla to gain exposure to the QGC Upstream Assets.

I completed the ICE Engineering Student Vacation Program from November 2018 to February 2019, which consisted of four major projects related to instrumentation, control and electrical engineering processes. Projects were focused on End of Line (EOL) monitoring, High Pressure (HP) fuel gas control, and facility lighting efficiency. These projects involved:- Working with various members of the ICE team and other teams in the business unit;- Independent and collaborative work;- Using and manipulating engineering documents (P&IDs, PFDs, Loop Diagrams, etc);- Exposure to the Safety Instrumented System (SIS), Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs);- Stakeholder and vendor engagement;- Risk assessment procedures (HAZIDs, HAZOPs, HSE Procedures); and- Documentation of engineering processes.Multiple (3) visits to the Curtis Island APLNG Downstream Facility were also undertaken to develop the major work fronts and gain exposure to the plant.Outcomes of the program were presented to management and engineering team members from the Australian Business Unit East and West.After the vacation period I worked for ConocoPhillips alongside my studies, and in my role I extended some of my work on the above projects.

I completed an unpaid internship at Australian National Testing Laboratories to gain professional experience while studying in 2017 and 2018. In this role, my responsibilities were:- Completing day to day tasks related to the testing and approval of electrical, plumbing and thermal components from various manufacturers in accordance with the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA).- Developing testing mechanisms and documenting testing results.
