Promoted to Senior SLA Technician, I positively and professionally lead, develop and co-ordinate a team to provide the highest standards in Rapid Prototyping. By facilitating goal-level creation for the broader function and working with managers to make sure targets cascade to all workers, I ensure clarity around priorities and goals for the entire functional area through strategy development and execution planning. I have not only been trained in all aspects of programming which provide continuity and reassurance to the team when the Head of the department is not available, but I am also highly trained and skilled in all SLA processes from inception to completion. These include electroforming/electroplating, flexibles, pre-paint preparation, sandblasting, paint spraying and model making to which I focus on expedient delivery. I also am a quality controller to which work that is not up to standard will not get processed and will be reworked until I am satisfied. Having a firm understanding of additive manufacturing, not only have I acquired an array of knowledge and skills to which I am constantly developing, but I am also skilled and thrive on team development through good communication skills, both written and verbal.

My role as an SLA Technician was to support the Head of Rapid Prototyping and Senior SLA Technician in delivering high quality prototypes with exceptional attention to detail. My role included the maintenance of all SLA, flexibles, sandblasting and electroforming machines, and all processes through to the delivery of the prototype parts. Skills obtained through these various processes are rubbing with various degrees of sandpaper, sandblasting, masking, carbon stitching, paint spraying, using medium stoppers, panel wipe, electroplating and a degree a model making.

In September 2016 I was fortunate to obtain a 4 month work experience placement at STR in their Rapid Prototype and Model Making departments. Over those up and coming months I learnt various processes assisting in the progression of prototype parts to then be tested in their onsite wind tunnel. Coming to the completion of my experience I was then offered a full time job in their SLA department.

Promoted into a management role, I efficiently lead and advanced a team to provide exceptional standards and quality bespoke lithographic print products. My role not only included being fully conversant with all equipment, machinery, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle ensuring all Health and Safety, COSHH and Risk Assessments were adhered to, but to also implement the production of products to the highest standard from inception to completion.

As a Design and Manufacturing Technician, my role was to liaise and support the senior members of staff implementing designs into production with outstanding attention to detail. The role required specialist expertise in the operation, setting and programming of multi-axis machinery, precise and accurate foil separation, screen exposure using photosensitive emulsion under ultra-violet light and kiln operation and maintenance.
