Occupational Therapy Assistant
CurrentIn my role as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, I have consistently supported service users in their mental health recovery and rehabilitation journeys, assisting with the planning, delivery, and assessment of therapeutic interventions and activities that promote independence and wellbeing. I have taken a proactive approach in promoting recovery-focused practices by participating in and leading quality improvement projects to ensure that the care provided aligns with individuals' personal recovery goals. I have collaboratively worked with the multi-disciplinary team by ensuring the occupational therapy perspective, using the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) framework, is at the forefront of service users' care and treatment. Additionally, in my link role as the activities lead for the inpatient unit, I created, organised, and led group activities in line with the MOHO framework and with a focus on supporting service users to develop and enhance their instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) skills.
