About Emily Powers
I am a diligent employee who is passionate about human connection and service. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Management and a Bachelor's of the Arts in Communication Studies. My time in both the UGA Terry College of Business and the UGA Franklin College of Arts and Sciences has provided me with a wide variety of skills ranging from rhetorical criticism to quantitative and qualitative research methods to creating strategic business processes and designs. Some of my favorite experiences include being a Resident Assistant for UGA University Housing, studying abroad in France, and working for the Walt Disney Company. These experiences challenged me to apply what I learned in my coursework in order to work with and unite people of differing cultures and backgrounds. While I loved my time at UGA and experiences thus far, I am excited for the next step in my professional career!

Disney College Program Participant
As a Disney College Program participant at the Walt Disney World, I became a part of the magic that is known worldwide, gain experience working in a front-line role at our parks and resorts, and had the unique opportunity to participate in uniquely Disney experiences and activities created just for Disney Program participants. This unique program allows participants to network with professionals throughout the Walt Disney Company, take part in Learning and Career Development Sessions, and live and work with people from all over the world. I built transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, guest service, and effective communication as well as learned about and experienced Attractions Operations in Epcot.
Marketing And Program Intern
CASA is a local non-profit, volunteer organization that provides advocacy for children in the foster care system. In my position as a Program intern, I attended court hearings, reviewed case documents, facilitated training for new CASA volunteers, and more. As a Marketing intern as well, I managed Athens-Oconee CASA social media accounts by creating content, scheduling posts, and developing the monthly newsletter that is sent out to the community. I also redesigned the monthly newsletter to be more cohesive with the brand colors and image. I learned about the Georgia foster care system, mental health challenges the community faces, the legal environment, and so much more.
Major Events Chair Of The Arch Society
In addition to being a general member of the Arch Society, I led the Major Events committee. We coordinated, managed, and executed events for 30 to 120 students, staff, and campus administrators. Some of these events include Archgiving, the Arch Love Day Mixer, and the Arch Banquet. This role required leading committee meetings, constant communication with members and the executive board, designing the spaces for events, and collaboration with other committees such as Philanthropy and Social.
Music Composer And Producer
I enjoy writing and producing music whether it be for myself or others. My Honors Senior Research program helped me discover my passion for composing and sharing my music. I was able to convey the impact music has on storytelling, specifically in film, through my year long project which inspired me to continue writing music as a storytelling form. While I have trained in piano and singing for over a decade, I am a self-taught producer. The UGA à Paris study abroad program focuses upon the economy, politics, culture, and history of France and Western Europe. I took two communication courses in Paris pertaining to Parisian Art, Symbols, and Identity and also Conflict in French Culture.

Spring Musical Dance Captain And Choreographer
During my time at Landmark Christian School, I was the Dance Captain for the spring productions of Legally Blonde (2017), Once Upon a Mattress (2018), and Disney's The Little Mermaid (2019). I was also a choreographer for Disney's the Little Mermaid. These roles required me to lead rehearsals, clean and clarify movements, create dances, inspire confidence in the ensemble members, mitigate conflict and more.
