Lakeside Dinning Hall is one of the several dinning halls located on my college campus. As a server for different areas of the kitchen, I had to serve and prepare food, maintain and disinfect my daily station and welcome guests. I worked many different hours, which were scheduled, around my classes, the earliest begins at 6:50 a.m. This job stressed flexibility and communication. It was a close nit environment and you must work well with others.

Farmingdale, New York

Adventureland is a theme park located on Long Island. My two years there helped me develop many skills. I worked with children first hand maintaining rules order and safety. My communication skills were highly developed because I interacted with guests and staff members daily. Dealing with difficult and sometimes aggressive situations. In 2013, I gained a leadership role and helped to train employees. The role also had other duties like providing breaks, testing employees' knowledge, customer relations and a small amount of paperwork and survey taking. Overall the job was fast paced and physically demanding. The job was seasonal so I worked from May until August each year. On average I worked ten to twelve hour days most days of the week. It was a wonderful experience overall thanks to great management.

Trainers were responsible for on average thirty children between the ages of four and five. We taught simple skills such as field position, ball handling and teamwork. The focus was to create a developmental but fun environment. Helping children learn a game I loved through my own childhood was the main reason I took the job. I wanted to develop the community that was a major part of my life. It was a simple but humbling first job.
