Membership Consultant
Current- Talking with potential members about the Y (including giving facility tours, explaining membership benefits, and answering questions)- Guiding new members through the membership paperwork and explaining policies- Reviewing members’ personal financial documents in order to calculate the amount of financial assistance that I can approve for them- Encouraging the community to donate to initiatives such as the Annual Support Campaign- Helping to train new membership consultants, membership representatives, and volunteers- Delegating tasks to the membership representatives and volunteers- Contacting members with low facility usage and giving them recommendations for ways to get involved and reach their goals- Following up with prospects and encouraging them to join- Contacting new members to ask how their experience at the Y has been so far- Registering participants for activities such as classes, sports teams, camps, swimming lessons, massage therapy, and personal training- Making changes to accounts such as adding/removing members, changing payment methods, holds, cancellations, etc.- Counseling members who are considering cancelling about different options/ways to get involved in order to save the membership and keep our cancellation rates low- Acting as the MOD (Manager on Duty) during evening shifts- Being an advocate for the YMCA and the members we serve
