I lead a team of passionate and dedicated individuals to provide exceptionally high quality and tailored play-based programs for Indigenous young people in Western Canada. Our program and team lives our values of community ownership, play-based learning, capacity building and continual improvement. To serve our partners best, we employ a strength-based approach with a trauma-informed lens.I manage our program implementation, training and program development, partnerships and government relations, and budgets in Western Canada.

Vancouver, Canada Area

I effectively lead a team of 6 people to open an office in a new province and launch programs in British Columbia and Alberta with a $1.5 million dollar operating budget. Our team supported approximately 30 partnerships with Indigenous communities and urban organizations in BC, Alberta and Manitoba and was successfully endorsed by the BC First Nations Summit, Union of BC Indian Chiefs and BC Assembly of First Nations. I developed meaningful relationships with a variety of partners including government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and donors in order to enhance the quality of our programs and deepen the impact of life-skills programming for Indigenous youth. I oversaw and co-managed our annual week-long training events, youth symposiums, in-community trainings, and fee-for-service engagements. I also managed our annual application process which resulted in approximately 140 applications a year from Indigenous communities and organizations in BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.

I supported 15 First Nations in Ontario, predominantly fly-in communities, to develop, design, implements, evaluate and celebrate truly outcome and play-based programs for children and youth. Using a strength-based approach, I provided remote and in-community coaching and support for local youth workers. I designed and facilitated numerous engaging and participatory capacity and skill-building workshops and play-based resources and manuals for staff, youth, students, and external stakeholders.As the Trauma Response Specialist, I cultivated a culture of self-care on our team and provided on-going capacity-building opportunities for our staff and youth worker team surrounding self-care. I developed and managed our co-op education program which entailed developing relationships with post-secondary institutions, managing the program budget, and hiring, training and managing over fourteen students.I concisely created and delivered presentations to key stakeholders and partners including government ministriesI also assisted in the writing of successful grant proposals for programs over $300,000
