Photos matter. They are visual records of our experiences, ways of sharing beauty, communicating, understanding who we are, and who and what we love. As humans our brains are hard-wired to create and share stories. We need them to help us understand our world. I have the great fortune as a photographer to step into people’s lives and to capture those moments that become part of our visual language as families, businesses and individuals. I love to shoot real life images, capturing the gaps as well as the whole. The quiet moments, the unguarded moments, the strong and the soft.Before I realised I wanted to photograph the world, I had some great experiences in my working life. I managed an architectural practice in London, studied Spanish in Barcelona and poured beers in Edinburgh. The bulk of my career was managing big clients in the Advertising industry.
