Wait Mate

Our vision is to create a world where kids can be kids for longer. We are a group of primary school parents brought together by our mutual desire to avoid a phone-based future for our children and the belief that we have the power to make positive change. We’ve created the Australian movement to get parents to delay addictive smartphones until (at least) high school and to help halt the worrying statistics on mental health. It’s easy to feel helpless in the face of technology but it’s equally inspiring to recognise that the solution is in our hands. If we all take action, there will be less peer pressure and no reason to own a smartphone in primary school. We believe that now is the time to change the course of history and reverse the adverse mental health outcomes for our future teens. It begins with a simple, powerful act.
