Worked with Dr. Rong Gan using Solidworks and ANSYS to develop a 3D-printed model of the inner ear for mechanical testing and medical training practice. This project has involved using CT scans of the human middle ear to generate a model in Solidworks for 3D printing. The model was adjusted, printed, cleaned, and tested with several iterations in order to obtain mechanical properties similar to that of the actual human middle ear. Both scanning laser measurements and uniaxial testing were used to obtain this information.
