I'm a graduate student in the Department of Religion and the Mormon Studies Program at Claremont Graduate University. I'm interested in religion and land use in the United States and leverage my research to build dialogue and collaborative, community-focused land management strategies across the American West. I began this work during my undergraduate years at Princeton University.I utilize ethnography, oral history, and textual analysis to understand the land ethics of Latter-day Saints in southern Utah– this region provides unique insight on relationships to authority among LDS Church members, how Mormon history affects contemporary members' land use, and what constitutes a distinctly Mormon land ethic. I am passionate about making research accessible and relevant to the people I work with through public-facing journalism and community outreach events. Because of that, I am always interested in collaborating with academics, writers, and other media creators on projects related to religion and land use!
