I connect with and bring together faculty, administrators and others at the college to explore challenges, pathways and strategies to support students in mathematics achievement. This Mathematics Community of Practice helps inform policy changes to support student success. Many students find mathematics, even when applied within their program of interest, to be problematic. By working together to support them, we ensure that they are successful in their chosen fields and graduate as sought after employees in their field. In addition to my work with mathematics in the college, I chair the Pilon School of Business' Internationalization Working Group. The focus of this working group is on partnering with institutions globally for exchanges of students and faculty, research, faculty professional development and internationalizing the curriculum in the Business school. The goal is that each Sheridan College Pilon School of Business graduate have a global perspective and an international experience. As chair of the Internationalization Working Group in the Pilon School of Business, I sat on the college wide International Academic Advisory Council, which advises both policy and process around international student experience.
