Serve as the primary grant writer for Keshet, the only organization in the U.S. that works for LGBTQ inclusion in all facets of Jewish life — synagogues, Hebrew schools, day schools, youth groups, summer camps, social-service organizations and other communal agencies. Through training, community organizing and resource development, Keshet partners with clergy, educators and volunteers to equip them with the tools and knowledge they need to be effective agents of change.As the Grants Manager, Emily is responsible for grant writing, reporting and researching/identifying funding opportunities for the organization. In her role at Keshet, Emily uses her strong writing, data analysis, foundation research, and project management skills.

Work as a consultant to local and national nonprofits, providing grant writing and prospect research, as well as assistance in areas of program development and evaluation. Program responsibilities included: grant writing, management of program budget, collaboration with local agencies, schools and families, recruitment, training and supervision of staff and volunteers, database management and youth recruitment. Initiated educational programs for a variety of stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, policy makers, advocacy groups, higher education institutions, parents and students. Supervised Intervisitation Program, coordinating and interfacing with over 2,500 annual visitors. Developed and maintained database designed to facilitate scheduling, track restructuring efforts and generate statistical data. Created resource library to meet demands of 4,000 annual requests.

Researched economic information about Japanese-affiliated companies manufacturing in the US. Assisted in the development and publication of Japan's Expanding US Manufacturing Presence, a Japan-US financial reference manual. Provided support to Director, including drafting research and grant proposals, planning conferences and seminars, and database development.Youth for Understanding; Evaluated youth exchange program for 1,000 American students studying overseas. Collaborated with exchange students through counseling and interview sessions to ascertain needs and assessment of program. Drafted a report that identified necessary changes for program improvement. Created an informational database containing research findings.

Provided year-long English instruction to eight students. Instruction was designed for students to learn first hand about American culture and language. Curriculum included basic skills, with a primary emphasis on American culture, literature, history and politics. Programming contributed to school's incorporation of thematic teaching technique.
