Practical idealist and portfolio careerist. Building bridges across disciplines, sectors, and cultures. Always learning, always growing.FOOD SYSTEMS AND INFORMATICSI have spent 15 years working toward healthier, more equitable, and more sustainable food systems. Currently, I conduct interdisciplinary research, develop partnerships, and design digital & educational tools to this end. I have worked in all sectors—at government research centers, nonprofits, and tech companies—and in three different countries. I hold an MS in Biochemical & Molecular Nutrition from Tufts and am pursuing a PhD in Agricultural & Environmental Chemistry at UC Davis. My doctoral research leverages methods from the emerging field of "food informatics" and is funded in part by IC-FOODS—a nonprofit research institute innovating in this space. Beyond research, I am dedicated to advancing food informatics through education and workforce development. SOCIAL AND SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONWithin the “sustainability” realm, I am most knowledgeable about: sustainable food systems, the circular bioeconomy, and socially responsible business models. I hold both the Sustainability Excellence Associate (SEA) credential and a professional certificate in Sustainability and Social Impact. As a PhD student, I was selected to participate in 3 fellowships in business innovation—during which I took 6 MBA courses, gained hands-on experience developing business models, and evaluated emerging agrifood technologies and startups. In 2022, I began working at venture-backed, growth-stage startup called HowGood, which provides sustainability intelligence for the food industry. There, I gained a deep understanding of both food sustainability and corporate sustainability. After 2+ years on the research team, I now l consult on the partnerships team. CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTI am a certified coach and career development professional (ACC, GCDF), having spent 5+ years guiding hundreds of people along their career journeys. As co-founder of Golden Acorn, I facilitate a job search support group and offer 1:1 coaching to help early and mid-career professionals with: career clarity, job search strategy, accountability & productivity, confidence building, networking & personal branding, and upskilling. I also work on a contract basis as a career coach for an early-stage, women-led edtech startup called WOKEN, where I enable client success using technology. Bringing my food sustainability and career development expertise together, I co-founded The Job Feed. Follow for weekly #sustainablefoodjob lists!
