I was part of a team of software developers at Boston Productions, Inc., where we built unique software solutions for clients in the museum industry. I worked with product owners, designers, clients, and our own internal resources to create engaging, robust applications that are used by thousands of people every day. I was also responsible for building out BPI's tech support department and maintaining our legacy code base. I designed a system that allows close back-and-forth communication between the tech support team and any other department that might be responsible for responding to a support ticket. Improving client communication and internal documentation was a priority, and while the system is still new, all signs point to it being a success.

This was a jack-of-all-trades position that included software development, work with Arduino and Raspberry Pi, graphic design, video processing, tech support, and project management for museum exhibits in all stages of development.One of the more interesting projects I worked on involved developing a query language for a custom search engine we were building. I was able to draw directly on my education in linguistics to develop a generative grammar for the language that allowed users to input complex conditional queries into the engine.What I learned: - Communication protocols and networking in Python and Arduino C- Project and client management- Video editing and production- How to approach learning complex subjects in short periods of time
