Emma Bara is the Co-founder of the social enterprise WeCanAccess Ltd and WeCanAccess Training. She has over 20 years’ experience in the field of sustainability (she was at the forefront of the field and was their when organisations where defining what the sustainability mean and what the sustainability develop goals should look like). Emma is highly experienced at community capacity building, project management and policy development for governments and the charity sectors, in the UK and for the state of Victoria.The catalyst for co-founding WeCanAccess was when her husband @DavidBara and herself reflected on the challenges the family had (and still do) experience as result of their daughter surviving an aggressive brain tumour and then again reflecting upon the challenges that the hidden and visible disabilities they and their friends faced and face on a daily basis. Emma has a range of hidden disabilities and in all honesty trying to understand what they are could take a long while talking numerus professionals, the key is how they impact Emma's quality of life again as well as being a parent of a child who has survived a brain tumour and the issues that go with this. Emma has a clear understanding of issues that people and families with hidden and visible disabilities face. Emma’s company has been identified as pioneers in their field by #LearningPlanet. David's mission with Emma is to make the world a more accessible place for all. She has person knowledge of the challenges that children with cancer and their families face. Emma and his company is currently sitting on the committee to review the inclusive education policy of Nigeria and they have met with other Africa politicians and discussed how to improve accessibility and inclusion within their countries.
