About Emma Cannon

Hello! I'm Emma Cannon, a passionate advocate for gender equity and social justice with a solid academic foundation in Gender Studies and Sociology. My journey began as a research assistant in the Trauma Research Consortium at the Kinsey Institute, working under distinguished minds such as Dr. Stephen Porges, Dr. Gregory Lewis, and Dr. Jacek Kolacz. This formative experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for research methodologies and the profound impact of trauma-informed approaches. Eager to broaden my impact, I pursued a Master of Public Affairs at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, concentrating in Nonprofit Management. Here, I honed my skills in strategic planning, program development, and effective organizational leadership. During my time as a graduate student, I discovered my passion for social entrepreneurship and the femtech industry. I developed a desire to be the bridge between the for-profit femtech industry and nonprofit organizations working to bring these incredible innovations to folks in need. I'm thrilled to be part of the dynamic team at I Support the Girls, where I serve as the Programs and Corporate Partnerships Coordinator. In this role, I have the privilege of driving impactful programs (namely, the Affiliate network, our incredible flagship program) and forging meaningful for-corporate partnerships that align with our mission of supporting individuals in need with dignity. I am honored to work for a nonprofit dealing directly with period poverty. I'm enthusiastic about leveraging my skills, knowledge, and passion to contribute to positive social change. Let's connect and explore how our collective efforts can create a more just and equitable world.
