Intake role for obtaining family history & medical records for referred patients to the familial cancer program and cardiac team. Completed this role to move into a genetic counsellor position.

As a trained breastfeeding counsellor, I volunteer my time to support families. I have regular shifts on the National Breastfeeding Helpline, and also support mothers face-to-face at local group events. In addition, I have experience running Breastfeeding Education Classes for expectant parents and delivering education and support to new parents through local council child health nurse new parents' groups. I find this volunteer work rewarding and inspiring.Support families through a range of challenges during prenatal, antenatal and early childhood stages.Face-to-face breastfeeding assessments, advice on positioning and attachment, support through breastfeeding supplementation, expressing and storing breastmilk, lactation aids, breast refusal and more. Delivery of evidence-based breastfeeding information to expectant parents and healthcare professionals through oral presentation, written information and social media posts.Advocacy work surrounding lactation support, breastfeeding friendly workplaces and public events.Focus on empathy and unconditional positive regard, meeting mothers where they are on their journey and provision of psychosocial support, resources, referrals and information as appropriate.Provision of volunteer telephone counselling to >280 Australian families on the National Breastfeeding Helpline.

A range of temporary positions for both AEC and WAEC, with promotions and escalating responsibility at subsequent elections. Managed teams of staff for electoral venues both on polling days and during pre-polling, including training staff, preparation of materials and venues, venue liaison and managing any complaints from members of the public.Implement strict policies and procedures with all work carried out with minimal supervision.Effectively lead a team of temporary staff, documenting and reporting back to senior electoral officials. Respectful interactions with diverse members of the public across generations, cultures, language and disabilities.

Part of the Support Services Team at Mito Foundation, supporting people in the community living with mitochondrial disease. Initially hired on contract to conduct a review of their patient registry, my role has evolved and expanded into other support areas and projects. Reviewed existing Mito Registry by contacting each client on the database and exploring their diagnosis information, support needs, psychosocial concerns.Empower Mito community clients by hearing their concerns, responding to requests for information and taking time to explain complex information, identifying psychosocial needs and referring for further support. Collaborate with multiple departments within the Foundation, including provision of feedback to communications team on the needs of the mito community, conducting database searches to identify potential research participants, presenting on Mito Connect Calls and responding to research enquiries. Pioneered newly created position by working autonomously to deliver original set targets and created management guide for future review calls conducted by other team members.
