I migrated to the land of opportunities from England nearly twelve years ago, with a husband (he only came along because i begged him to) two beautiful childen who were 9 & 5 years old and four suitcases. We arrived in Melbourne, a city not previously even passed through, and quickly realised that no one even knew our names. A GPS was purchased at the airport and 12 years later we are still following the voice that says "At the roundabout take the 3rd exit..." Retail for me has never been 'just a job' and so the search to find a suitable employer was tougher than i'd imagined... I needed a story, a history, an employer who's dreams were bigger than my own, and with who I could utilise my experience of the crazy, fast paced, forward thinking environment I was so used to working in. I found it. What a ride it has been.. you know, that kind of Tower of Terror ride, that you can't wait to go on, you stand in the queue wondering what the hell you are doing and before you know it you are strapped in and rising and falling at an immensly fast pace with the wind in your hair and not knowing if you'll keep the contents of your stomach! (Sorry, probs a bit much?) But then the ride ends, you disembark, and can't wait to do it all again! Now.. i certainly got my money's worth out of that journey, but I'm ready for the next adventure and whatever that may be one thing is for sure, this girl still has plenty of dreams to follow, experience to share and people to lead and inspire...
