A team member and team leader of an independent research project at Catawba College advised by Dr. Jay Bolin. The project focused on how the emerald ash borer killing the green ash tree impacted the surrounding forest ecosystem. The project was presented at several conferences and won awards at the 2022 Association of Southern Biologists conference.

Coordinated volunteers and local farmers to provide fresh produce to impoverished communities and/or communities in food deserts. Helped organize events and manage grants to local farmers through Bread Riot.
