Facilitating acquisition and communication of forest information to help Drax deliver a zero carbon, lower cost energy future using bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS).Key responsibilities:- Extract, manage and communicate forest and forest products data and undertake quantitative and qualitative data analysis- Analyse publications, reports and public data sources to examine trends and impacts in key supply regions- Assist in ongoing sustainability evidence gathering including Catchment Area Analysis reports- Use of geospatial data to communicate trends in wood procurement and biomass supply chains, trends in forest management and restocking

Carate, Costa Rica

Collaborated with a team of scientists conducting long-term research on wildlife populations, providing annual reports to MINAE (Costa Rica's Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications) to help improve conservation efforts in the Osa Peninsula region. My roles included:• Coordinated sea turtle climate change research programme including leading morning turtle patrols to monitor long term hatching success with the research results later published in Marine Turtle Newsletter (see link below)• Coordinated independent study examining effects of rising sea levels on turtle nesting behaviours that has led onto to an ongoing project continued by successor to role• Assisted in an ongoing Macaw diet research project which was later published in Bird Conservation International (see link below)• Updated and presented climate change lecture to all incoming volunteers• Conducted daily transect surveys comparing abundance and species richness of various animal species in primary, secondary and disturbed forests as part of an ongoing research project• Completed Advanced Certificate in Tropical Habitat Conservation (see link below)• Took part in community activities including weekly beach cleans and events promoting our work
