I joined Sprecher Grier in 1989 and began my career as a junior paralegal in 1990, working as a personal assistant for both David Sprecher and Ian Grier, the founders of that firm. From the outset my experience was in the fields of debt recovery, insolvency and civil litigation. I still work with clients I had when I first joined that firm.As that firm grew, I became a Senior Legal Manager within the Insolvency and Restructuring team. I have a broad range of clients covering many industry sectors and on its merges with Martineau and later Shakespeares I held the role of Senior Associate.I have particular expertise in all types of winding-up petitions, administration applications and bankruptcy petitions. I am experienced in all necessary process within these actions, dealing with disputes and negotiations where appropriate. I also act for Insolvency Practitioners on failed CVA and IVA petitions. I also have many years experience in dealing with civil litigation and have personally taken matters all the way to trial, although am equally experienced in the negotiation process and achieving satisfactory settlements for my client who wish to avoid the costs of protracted litigation. I have always had my own contentious caseload of small to multi-track matters and insolvency proceedings and am the manager of a team which deals with that caseload. I also assist partners in the Insolvency Team on larger cases, dealing with matters such as disclosure, cost schedules, briefs to counsel and court bundles.In April 2016 I left Shakespeare Martineau and joined MHS Sprecher Grier, a new law firm set up by three partners I have worked with for many years at my former firms.
