Responsibility to oversee and develop the provision of service delivery within the organisation; ensuring the smooth running and efficiency of multiple services and projects for the funders, stakeholders, clients and the Trustee Board.

Meeting KPIs and drawing up budgets for our SLA (core funding) and individual projects including PensionWise, Money Advice Service Debt Project and Wessex Water. Working with the Trustee Board and rest of the management team on the strategic plan and direction of the organisation. Working closely with the different stakeholders and partners including National Citizens Advice, other local Citizens Advice and Bournemouth Borough Council. Completing successful funding applications and developing and managing new projects.

Ensuring the quality of the service and advice provided by the bureau meets the required standard.Leadership skills needed to manage volunteers and paid staff (including case workers). Development of the skills required to run a successful CAB. Supervision sessions within the bureau and ensuring the quality and consistency of case records including peer review, case checking and auditing.

In my role as a debt specialist I was a Debt Relief Order (DRO) intermediary, I also dealt with a number of bankruptcies as well as negotiating with creditors for priority and non priority debts on a regular basis. I also covered the court desk providing support and representation at possession hearings of clients of social and private tenants as well as mortgage repossessions with a number of successful applications to the District Judge. In this role I developed advocacy skills with representing clients at risk of repossession in court, financial capability skills through training and the development of financial capability workshops. As well as further development of negotiating skills and the completion of a number of DRO’s and bankruptcies.

In this role I provided a debt advice service to clients that who were receiving support from one of Bournemouth Borough Council’s Floating Support Providers. This role helped me to develop negotiating and communication skills with creditors and government organisations. I also successfully completed a number of DRO’s and repayment plans for clients, with the use of financial statements.

I volunteered with Poole CAB for my 40 week placement year for my law degree. In this role i dealt with all kinds of enquiry area including housing, benefits, employment, debt and immigration. Including communicating and negotiating with third parties on behalf of clients.
