My dream, once finishing University, was to work with young people at risk of getting involved in crime and intervene to reshape their lives and help them see a world where crime shouldn't be an option - and this is exactly what I do at Box Up Crime.My roles and responsibilities include:- Working on marketing and graphic designing of all aspects of Box Up, including social media, re-designing programme bookets (E.G '6 weeks to the real me' youth school mentoring programme and our 'Box Up Basics' training programme), designing tangible information booklets to pass to young people, parents, and outward organisations.- Acting as the main funding writer/bidder for all potential applications - including research and editing.- Designing and creating new programmes to add to our ongoing, expansive roster (E.G 'She can BoxUp' programme for young women affected by youth crime).- Acting as the middle ground of liaison for partner organisations, starting conversations, and creating partnerships.- Mentoring a cohort of young people 1-1 with either previous or pending convictions, victims of youth violence, or at risk young people - monitoring their progress with Box Up Crime, giving them access to opportunities, jobs, work related training, and free boxing training. - Being responsible for all incoming payments (invoicing), timesheets for all staff and handling petty cash.- Acting as the working manager for all volunteers and programme coaches.All of the above work is to work towards our goal of achieving 20 Box Up 'Hubs' across London - as demonstrated in our five-year plan. -
