Supporting the work of the Strategic Communications and Public Engagement directorates at Queen's University. Responsible for event co-ordination, content creation and editing.

The elected President functions as the Chief Executive Officer for the Students’ Union, which has over 25,000 members. Responsibilities include:- Being the principal spokesperson for media and external stakeholders, including the government and charitable bodies. This includes all communications and press releases and continually liaising with the marketing department. - Chair of the Student Union’s Executive Management Committee, Standing Committee, Environmental and Ethical Committee and Commercial Services Forum.- Line management of four Vice Presidents, including approving Annual Leave and performance management, ensuring the effective delivery of campaigns and priorities.Achievements include:- Securing a Cost-of-Living package for students of around £5.6 million, including payments for all students, the cuts of fines and free breakfasts for over 5000 students.- Advocating for investment into mental health and obtaining funding for two new full-time staff posts at the Students’ Union.

The elected Vice President for Education in the Students’ Union represents students and their academic interests to the University to create change. Responsibilities included:- Training, supporting, and gaining feedback from over 600 Academic Representatives. These students volunteer as Course, School and Faculty Representatives and I hosted several events alongside weekly check-ins both online and in-person.- Directly shaping the Education strand of the University’s Strategy 2030, as the sole student voice amongst senior managers.- Co-hosting Education based committees alongside the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education and Students, such as the Academic Board.Achievements include:- Winning the USI award for ‘Education Campaign of the Year’ for introducing Exam and Feedback calendars to all Schools.- Gaining a place on the Student Strategic Advisory Board for QAA.

Washington Ireland is a programme which brings together young people from across the island from different backgrounds to develop their leadership skills. 2021 was the largest class, with over 100 young people participating. I was part of the Politics and Policy cohort. Throughout the two-month period I:- Attended weekly Speaker Sessions including asking questions about their expertise and career paths.- Co-ordinated a group Policy paper on the topic of ‘How might Northern Ireland and Ireland pursue mechanisms that foster cooperation and mitigate divisions in government and society?’- Researched a group paper for AU Sine Institute to describe the ‘Youth Attitudes to Public Service and Governmental Institutes in America’.

Food Services Assistant in a food retailer with a multi-million-pound yearly turnover. I was:- Responsible for the restocking of food produce and engaging with customers in a large, fast paced retail setting. - Ensured that stock was rotated to ensure less food wastage, and arranged attractive displays based on promotional sales.

Full time staff member in the Botanic branch of Boojum, the busiest store in Belfast. During shifts I:- Handled fast paced transactions of up to 4 customers a minute in a busy restaurant environment, both the monetary and serving aspects. - Trained in food safety and presentation of food, was able to provide for specific customer wants by learning the full menu and allergens. - Delivered excellent customer service through communication with customers and collaborated with other team members in the front and back of house.

Part-time sales assistant in a clothing shop, advising customers on a range of products and maintaining shop floor standards. I also:- Attained weekly KPIs to maximize sales during the Christmas season as well as in-store card sign ups.
