I am an experienced accredited play therapist with an extensive background in primary teaching. I work in partnership with schools and parents to support children who have had or who are living with difficult experiences via play therapy, training and consultancy. This might be children who:- have regular emotional outbursts that they can't easily calm down from- seem to flare up for no reason- do not respond to classroom rewards and consequences- have trouble attending school- have high levels of districtability and/or off task behaviourI have extensive experience of working with children who have child protection plans. As part of my play therapy practice I work with parents and staff to advise and make plans for home & school support. As a teacher with 30 years experience in the primary sector I understand the pressures of the classroom and am passionate about supporting staff as well as children. I am an experienced clinical supervisor and can offer support for DSLs and staff working with stressful cases.I am open to new opportunities and can tailor an individual package for your school including the following services:Play therapy (individual and group)Advice for staff and parentsBehaviour management consultancy and trainingTrauma awareness consultancy and trainingStaff support and clinical supervisionAlongside my school based work I am an experienced trainer and offer consultancy and training on behaviour approaches, issues such as Adverse Childhood Experiences, childhood trauma and secondary trauma. As an experienced trainer I also devise and run workshops for play therapists and other professionals working with vulnerable children.
