Emma Potter is a recent graduate of Grinnell College with a BA in Biology and Political Science with Honors and current MPH student at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. Coming from rural Nebraska, Emma is passionate about health care access, affordability, and delivery, with an emphasis on rural communities and other underserved populations. She has additional interests in bioethics and disability policy and justice. Emma has previous experience working in the federal government, external affairs, and health policy research in which she developed skills in strategic communications, policy analysis, grassroots organizing, data analysis, and public speaking. She has been an active patient advocate for several years in which she facilitates support groups, disseminates new research findings, provides support to patients, and creates content relating to experiences with chronic illness and disability. Emma has contributed to the creation of several student organizations and programs, including Grinnell College's Disability Cultural Center and a health mentorship program that promotes health literacy and access among college students.
