I grew up in Athens, Ontario surrounded by a multitude of different environments, including farmlands, water systems, and forested environments. This began my passion for natural ecosystems and our ability to co-exist with the natural wonders of Canada. Due to this, I decided to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Studies at Trent University, in the hope to transform that passion into a career. By maintaining a flexible mindset and want to learn, I was able to begin a career at Parks Canada as a Visitor Experience Student, eventually leading to a position as a Resource Conservation Student at Thousand Islands National Park. Each day in this position allowed me to gain knowledge on different aspects of countless ecosystems and methods for each to both maintain and restore. I was also able to continue my passion for maintaining natural ecosystems while ensuring public engagement, appreciation, and education of the natural environments. When I am not either at Thousand Islands National Park or studying for my current classes, I am volunteering within both my communities in Athens Ontario and at Trent University. These experiences have heightened my appreciation for the variety of fields and knowledge that is able to be discovered within the environmental field and increased my passions for learning, teaching, and outreach.
