Imagine sitting in an airport waiting to board your red eye flight when a cheery Asian toddler comes running up to you. She smiles, waves, says hi, and then runs off to find more sleepy people to greet. That friendly little girl was me twenty years ago and is one of my parents' favorite stories about me. I have always loved buzzing around doing a million things and meeting a million-and-one people. This passion for uplifting, intermingling, and serving people has defined me and my activities. I was very active in high school with different organizations, and even more so now in college as I lead my own. I am a Nutrition and Dietetics major and am a part of the department's Student Dietetic Association. At the beginning of my junior year, I was voted in as Vice President and am currently the President. I led my team to successfully carry multiple fundraisers, expos, and events. This year I have implemented a constitution; and am organizing a department trip to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Conference, fundraisers, and outings. After volunteering for a few months, I was entrusted with the leadership of the Feed Arkadelphia organization due to the previous leader graduating. In this position, I am responsible for recruiting/organizing volunteers and community outreach, applying for grants, and overseeing packaging and delivery of meals to underprivileged families in Arkadelphia. I am currently establishing a Pershing Rifles unit with my school's AROTC program. This has been the group that I have looked forward to the most this year because I am excited to educate the cadets, build their organization and leadership skills, and provide them with the opportunity of getting a leg up in the program. At many times these positions can be high stress, but that type of environment is where I excel and am motivated. I love always being busy and connecting with all types of people. These roles have helped shape me into the type of leader I strive to be and further solidify my desire to be an Air Force officer and pilot.
