Was responsible for all operations and achieving KRA's across the trading departments on the shop floor, along with all people related tasks for my colleagues. Gained valuble experience in HR generalist experience through performing effective formal/informal coaching and mentorship, using performance management when required, fully overseeing all recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for the store, managing absence through appropriate attendance or health & wellbeing policies and liaising with occupational health, and conducting thorough investigations on complaints. Additionally took on responsibility for resource planning for the entire store and have led difficult changes to hours.

Ran the shift each night ensuring all departments were replenished in line with strict time scales to achieve the best availability for our online pickers. Managed rotas, holiday planning (using Kronos) and basic hr tasks for my team and gained experience in formal meetings e.g. attendance meetings. Assisted onboarding and training new colleagues along with coaching more experienced members of the team to improve performance.

Managed my own department’s (twilight) day to day running including rotas, managing a wage budget, holiday planning and training. Responsible for running the shift each night to ensure delivery was worked, process was completed and the shop was set up for the next days trade. Signed off as duty cover often having sole charge of the shop and dealing with customer issues. I also planned all modular activity across the whole Ambient department, often landing this myself learning valuable merchandising skills.

Working in a busy customer facing environment through the challenges the Covid 19 pandemic brought. I worked across multiple departments including bakery/counters, chilled, produce and front end. There I worked as a service host; organising the shift ensuring we had enough checkouts on to serve customers at any time and dealing with any issues that cropped up such as tech issues with self scans etc, and on the customer service desk which involved dealing with minor customer complaints.
