Emma Batey is a Business Development Manager at Northumbria University. She enjoys working in a learning environment and works closely with private organisations and academics to support them to collaborate and co-create added value, greater productivity and growth through new ideas from our world class research base. Her role includes building connections and partnerships based on value creation and impact for all parties. She's committed to supporting a future of fairness, diversity and equality.Emma completed a BA Hons Business Studies and a MSc Marketing Management. She started her career as a Marketing Programmes Manager for a large global elearning company based in Bracknell, Berkshire. Then worked as a Marketing Consultant for a small family run company in Durham.Following this Emma was employed by Newcastle University as a Business Support Officer to oversee a DTI funded collaborative partnership between three universities. She volunteered with the Children’s Foundation as a PR/Communications Assistant to build her PR experience and support their amazing work. Then worked full time as a Project Coordinator managing and setting up Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) at Newcastle University. Emma then went to work as a Marketing and Communications Officer for the Learning and Skills Council and completed the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.She moved back to KTPs in 2006 as a Business Development Manager for Knowledge Transfer at Teesside University. Overall Emma has set up over 35 KTPs of varying duration, all of which are strategic post graduate level projects in various technical subjects. Moving back up to Newcastle and nearer family to work at Northumbria University, Emma supported the successful Small Business Charter application for Newcastle Business School and now supports the Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences.
