Profile bio

About Emma Duncan

Once upon a time, as a young girl growing up in Sydney, Australia, I loved both science and writing stories. Science won out: I became a molecular biologist, working to understand how cancer cells become immortal. But I still loved writing - so after my post-doc, I shifted from lab work to science-based communications. I've worked in and for various organizations, including a large German biotech company, a small Swiss pharma company, and leading international organizations in the health, conservation and education fields. In 2012 I joined the Marketing and Communications Department at IMD business school, where my roles expanded to include marketing and brand management. In 2017 I moved to science communications at academic publisher Frontiers. I currently lead communications for two flagship initiatives focused on sustainability and health science – Frontiers in Science, our multidisciplinary journal, and the Frontiers Forum, our world-class science event.

Listed skills include Editing, Newsletters, Publications, Writing, and 25 others.
