About Emma Holcomb
Registered Nurse and University of Georgia Human Development and Family Sciences Alum. I am currently working on a 41-bed general medical-surgical unit at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, a HealthGrade nationally rated top-100 hospital. In this position, I am constantly challenged by the variety and acuity of patients that I care for -- a challenge that helps me constantly build my skill set and enhance my nursing judgment. As an RN with a Masters in the Science of Nursing and Clinical Nurse Leadership, I also strive to be a leader in the workplace and help maintain a positive work environment for all. Currently, my prior clinical experience includes 400 hands-on practicum hours on a medical services floor and working as a Patient Care Technician through Piedmont Athens Regional in the Float Pool, as well as working as a Home Health Aide, mostly with dialysis patients. During the summer of 2021, I also interned with a Doula at Behold Birth -- developing a community educational podcast series on topics related to prenatal and infant development, as well as parenting. This wide array of experience has allowed me to gain a variety of hands-on experiences, which have prepared me for a life-long career in nursing.I have a strong passion for providing thorough, quality care to patients and building a trusting nurse-patient relationship. I also have a passion for pregnancy and early infancy, particularly in the realms of development, nutrition, and breastfeeding.
