Technical Training Intern on the Learning & Development team for Irish Water. - Integrated Competency Framework: Analysis of organisation charts and job descriptions to identify and develop competencies per function. Development of sub – competencies, both Professional and Technical, and the corresponding matrix. Presented matrix to members of SMT. Developed an Evaluation Process for the Framework, including creating a survey on Survey Monkey (68% of function responded) and analysing the results for presentation to both the Steering Committee and Management Team of Function. - Maintained data and records on systems such as Moodle (IW Academy), ECM database, etc. - Supported Technical Training and L&D with day-to-day operational activities. - Completed Presentation Skills, Outlook and Visio courses.

Independent research work was conducted on the effects of geological properties and local land use on groundwater quality and the results were presented as a thesis. The project involved outlining a scientific problem, reviewing the associated literature, designing and executing an appropriate research programme, analysing and presenting these results and drawing clear conclusions. Technical competence was demonstrated in the handling of modern research facilities and laboratory work was conducted individually and as part of a team. Appropriate statistical and other quantitative procedures were carried out for data handling. Findings were effectively communicated using word processing, graphical and analytical programmes, both orally and in the form of a dissertation.

Market Research Intern with the Bord Na Móna Procurement Team. Research Project as part of Bord na Mona’s Biomass Evaluation Programme on a range of fuel types. Responsible for carrying out detailed research on a range of fuels focusing on the fuel source, the market, logistics, availability of the fuel type, supply & demand and technical aspects of the fuel. This project involved multiple presentations to senior management and external consultants.
