Take clients of various disabilities sailing on our Martin 16 sailboats, designed specifically to be accessible for all levels of ability. Help clients safely enter and exit our boats while accommodating their mobility needs, involving the use of slings, vertical lifts, ramp, and extra support when needed. Other duties include:• Build client relations and provide extra support to ensure clients are comfortable and safe throughout their experience• Accommodate adaptive sailors with gear that allows participants to safely sail (i.e. Autohelm, Windlass, Sip and Puff, Steering Stick)• Assist in moving, cleaning, launching, rigging, and general upkeep of sailboats• Overall maintenance and boat repair (i.e. fibreglassing, fixing rudders, replacing ropes, soldering for keel batteries)• Communicate with two-way radios, water safety, towing, emergency rescues, boat transportation, and winterization of sailboats for the season endOverall goal to promote our vision of empowering people with various disabilities to re-imagine what is possible and help the possibilities come to life!
