For over ten (10) years, I have worked with Not for Profit Organisations in the area of Human Rights Advocacy and the Rule of Law where I have made enormous contributions to the promotion and protection of human rights, building capacity for both state and non-state actors on human rights as well as advocacy on a wide range of issues. I am an enthusiast of the Security Sector and its role in Governance and Human Rights. I have spearheaded a number of research and audits on policing that include; the assessment of Uganda Police Force (UPF) compliance with established human rights standards and was part of the team Commissioned by the Africa Civilian Oversight Forum (APCOF) to undertake an assessment of Uganda Police Progress in the Implementation of the East African Common Standards for Policing; instrumental in the development of materials such as the Human Rights Policy for Uganda Police Force; development of a Complaints Handling Manual and Police form 105 all aimed at enhancing professionalism and accountability for Uganda Police Force.
