In my three years at Carolina, I have been challenged academically and personally, while transforming my leadership abilities. As a first-generation college student, I have had to adapt to and overcome the unique challenges of "being the first". However, I have used this knowledge in mentoring other students as they enter the University in hopes of easing their adjustment to college. While at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill I am pursuing a double-major in Political Science and History, with a concentration in Politics, Law, and Economy. In addition, I am pursuing a minor in public policy. My parents both working in public service jobs, and my own experiences working in a community pharmacy, has instilled a passion in me for giving back to my community through public service. Therefore, I hope to apply this dedication by pursuing law school following graduation, with the intention to work in public interest law in the future. This summer I will be completing an internship aligned with these goals with the Catawba County Attorney's Office and the Hickory City Attorney's Office. Beyond academics, I enjoy spending time with family, hiking, running, painting, reading, and keeping up with current events. I also dedicate time working on Get-Out-The-Vote and voter registration efforts across my state and community.
