Sharing NICA's stories and impact through thoughtful, strategic communications and marketing efforts in collaboration with our 32 nationwide leagues and NICA partners. Our goal? To change kids' lives by reinventing youth sports, using inclusive mountain bike programming as a tool.

Inspired action and partnerships throughout the NICA community using strategic marketing and communications efforts. Developed highly-visible, partner-based activations to aid in NICA brand and development efforts, working across our marketing and development teams.

Over 14,000 volunteer NICA youth mountain bike coaches instill the core values of fun, inclusivity, equity, respect, and community within their teams nationwide. I work to create and support quality coach education systems so that every NICA coach has what they need to facilitate amazing youth development programs that use the bike as a tool for character development and lifelong sport.

Led programming to empower student athletes in grades 6-12 through mountain biking by building strong minds, strong bodies, and strong character as a NICA team director and Level 3 coach. I worked with and alongside families and volunteers to plan and coordinate positive youth cycling events. Helped to grow and expand participation in three local school-based teams by 300% in three years, all while building capacity for the team to continue to grow.

Communications lead and assistant to the organization's director, my work at the Rural Schools Collaborative included a wide range of responsibilities and interactions within a national network of educators and leaders.I assisted with a multi-state hub system that promoted innovation in rural education through place-based grant making, local philanthropy, and fostering the next generation of rural teacher-leaders. I oversaw media and communications, working closely with the director. I served as a professional link to resources for rural teachers across the country. I also created and led a social marketing group called "I am a Rural Teacher!" which aimed to empower rural teachers across the country through networking and storytelling.

I guided all aspects of communications, media, and marketing for this well-loved regional wildlife and habitat conservation non-profit. During my tenure as director of communications, I helped transform the way the organization executed its communications, and fostered positive change to increase member engagement. I led collaboration on donor development and fundraising initiatives in concert with the executive director. I spearheaded event planning and field trip coordination, and created and implemented effective organizational efficiency measures. I helped share the positive place-based efforts of the Madison Audubon youth programs which promoted outdoor education in local urban schools. I served as the organization’s graphic designer, website designer, and social media manager while in this multi-faceted role. The nimble staff structure at MAS allowed me to utilize a wide variety of my skills and talents while working and collaborating with a strong team of colleagues.

While working at this nationally-renown outdoor education center, I served as the lead administrative support for a large team of field education faculty and professional staff. My role was logistically-intensive: I organized, maintained, and adapted campus-based systems for complex Field Education programs serving youth and adult learners. I was the primary manager of schedules and participant data for these programs. In addition to administration, I also supervised, managed, and trained rotating seasonal field staff, program assistants, and interns. While working on campus, I functioned as a customer support, hospitality, and guest services liaison for residential programming. I worked closely with the greater communications team at TSS, developing marketing and social media content specific to Field Education programs. I enjoyed participation in multiple committees within the TSS community, including working with a multi-departmental team to plan and establish organization-wide sustainability initiatives. Working at TSS allowed me understand the rich meaning of thoughtful collaboration, adaptation, and leadership in a large, vibrant work community.

I taught engaging field-based science and natural history in Grand Teton National Park, an ecologically and historically rich site in northwestern Wyoming. Through my instruction, I aimed to foster leadership and teamwork skills within participant groups of all ages. I led students in stewardship projects and fostered community engagement with partnering organizations in and around Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In this role, I grew as a young professional while working as part of a large, experienced team of education faculty, instructors, and interns.

I provided high quality customer service for a diverse range of outdoor enthusiasts in the Madison, Wisconsin area by sharing my knowledge of specialized outdoor gear. I assisted guests with high-performance apparel, footwear, hiking and backpacking equipment, climbing gear, and nordic skis. I also enjoyed contributing graphic design and illustration services, along with merchandising expertise while working at this locally-owned shop.
