Position in planning and organizing the Conferment Ceremony of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. Even though the work didn’t include that much food tech, I got a change to improve my problem solving, management and communication skills.

As a project planner in the development project of active packaging (Freshpack) my responsibilities were divided between the product development and commercial side. Product development included material development, shelf-life testing and sensory evaluation. The main purpose of commercial side was to investigate different ways of commercialization (including discussions with distribution chain operators) and go through the legisIative side.

My area of responsibility was in quality control and its development. It was a clear opportunity to show one's abilities, because the work was very self-directed and there was a lot of responsibility. Hard work in developing the quality control paid off and the system was finally certified according to FSSC22000 standards. The quality manager's work naturally included maintaining the quality system with audits and regular cooperation with food control authorities and stakeholders. Through contact material management, packaging labels, nutrient calculation and migration tests became familiar. The legislative perspective was also constantly present in the work. The work was rewarding and I gained a lot of practical experience in the hygiene requirements of food production and their impact on food safety. In addition to quality management, I had opportunities to participate in several product and process development projects with development team.

During my studies, I gained work experience form packaging lines and production planning. I was also mapping and composing different working steps on the production line.
