Expertise in data analysis, problem solving, object oriented software development.My research activity mainly developed in the experimental astroparticle physics field. The direct study of the charged component of the cosmic rays has been carried using both balloon and space-born detectors. This research field is of fundamental importance to search for dark matter and anti-matter, to understand the Milky Way structure, to develop cosmic rays propagation models in the interstellar matter and to study the heliosphere structure. I mainly worked for the CAPRICE and PAMELA experiments and my activity was focused on data analysis and software development. I have given an important contribution to the main analyses carried on with PAMELA. In the last years, the PAMELA experiment provided a set of new and precise experimental measurements. The results obtained have been of very high level and contributed to the development of antimatter and dark matter theoretical models. The measurement of antiprotons and positrons with PAMELA have been released to the scientific community as preprint in October 2008 and soon after they have been published on Physical Review Letter and Nature. In a matter of few months these articles were cited more than 500 times and many hundreds of theoretical papers referred to them. The result on the positron fraction has been chosen by the “American Institute of Physics” as one of the ten most important results of year 2009. The antiproton paper has been chosen with a extremely selective procedure to appear on “Physics” (on-line journal of the American Physical Society) as a “Viewpoint highlight”. A new extended measurement of the antiproton flux appeared on Physical Review Letter in 2010 and it has been highlighted with a “Synopsis” appeared on the web site of American Physical Society.
