CurrentLed a multidisciplinary team of 100 experts in the preparation of RBMPs for six river basins, ensuring full compliance with the EU Water Framework Directive. Responsibilities included daily technical oversight, coordination of team members, and ensuring all activities met strategic objectives.Directed and drafted technical reports on Characterization, Pressures and Impacts, Significant Water Management Issues, Water Status, ensuring compliance with EU standards and deadlines.Developed and implemented hydrological models, decision support systems, and water quality models to understand and manage water resources across all six basins. Led the design of Programs of Measures aimed at achieving WFD ecological and chemical objectives, focusing on pollution control, wastewater treatment upgrades, sustainable agricultural practices, and climate adaptation strategies. Oversaw the economic analysis of water services, conducting cost-recovery and cost-effectiveness analyses (CEA) for the PoMs to ensure financial and environmental sustainability.Led the development of Sectoral Water Allocation Plans (SWAPs) for six basins, ensuring equitable water distribution across sectors such as agriculture, industry, and municipal use. Integrated climate change impacts and drought risk assessments into both SWAPs and RBMPs, developing scenarios for water scarcity and extreme weather events to guide adaptive management strategies.Led Turkey’s first large-scale study on emerging pollutants, scanning over 95,000 new chemicals in rivers, and developed pollution control strategies tailored to basin-specific pollutants. Acted as the primary liaison between the Contracting Authority, End Recipient, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across national ministries, local authorities, and NGOs.
