Director, Community Programs
I lead a team to develop, implement, and evaluate public programs that relate to the mission and exhibit themes of the Missouri Historical Society. I aim to present a well-rounded and inclusive array of topics that offer varying perspectives on the history of our region and provide opportunities for visitors to connect with ideas, people, and places across time. I also oversee the Production team to ensure smooth execution of all programs and events that take place at the Missouri History Museum.
Public Programs Manager
I developed and implemented programs designed to educate; inspire thoughtful discussion; tie the past to the present; relate to Museum exhibitions; and bring together members of our regional community. I especially focused on documentary screenings and discussion-based programs that cultivated new audiences and created partnerships with outside organizations. My programs covered a broad variety of topics, with an emphasis on women's history, the LGBT community, environmental issues, and exhibit-related themes. I planned programs with an eye towards inclusion and ensuring that the History Museum represents all members of our community. I oversaw several ongoing series, including Community Cinema, History on the Side, and the Perspectives on Science & History lecture series. I also organized the annual Swap-O-Rama-Rama event, which brought together the concepts of community, creativity, and sustainability. I was a member and former chair of the Wellness Committee and was a member of the Green Committee, as well as various exhibit development teams.
