About Enid M.
As a crafting enthusiast, there are many lessons to be learned from crafting. Crochet, deceptively simple with its hook and yarn, allows one to create beautifully intricate items; however, one missed stitch or tangle can hamper the entire project. Quilting allows one to take fragments of fabric and piece them back together into a new, cohesive whole. Over time, I have applied these lessons to my approach to mental health. Despite a misstep that has changed a patient's life, I believe the right team and approach can work together to make a new whole.I currently work for Prescient Healthcare Group and work collaboratively with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to develop medical strategies that optimally demonstrate the value of their science and ultimately improve patient outcomes.Ultimately, I want to use my experience and education to improve patient care in mental health as a whole. When a patient's mental health declines, they are so easily stripped of their dignity, laid bare and swept up in the procedures and bureaucracy of treatment. Sometimes, it is easy to disregard compassion and respect as a patient becomes aggressive or belligerent. I want respect and dignity to become the foundation of any system I am involved in. Communication will be key as the patient and families become team members in directing the outcomes of their care.
