In 2016, Delmec signed a 3-year Managed Services Agreement with a major African based tower owner headquartered in London. Delmec were to manage and assess the total portfolio of 6,500+ sites across 5 African countries over the course of the following 3 years. The project aimed to audit and analyze all sites and provide engineering advice to the senior management team based in London. I relocated from Tanzania and Ireland to represent Delmec as Senior Project Manager and office based Consultant throughout the duration of the project.I oversaw the project's consultancy aspect, built a team with two Junior Consultants in Ireland and added an African-based technical specialist. Project Manager of multiple large-scale tower audit and strengthening project across Africa. I took the challenge to create this new in country unit coordinating 2 senior site experts, 20 direct survey riggers and 14 subcontracted companies with around 90 delivery teams for reinforcement and auditing works.Deliverables and AchievementsPrimarily located in Tanzania, Project Manager on several key projects including the Site Audit Projects for Tanzania, DRC, Ghana and Rwanda along with the Tower Strengthening Project within Tanzania.Site Audit Project: Responsible for the full delivery of the project across several African Countries on time and within budget. 1000+ sites Audited, Hiring, training and organizing 10+ site teams to carry out structural site surveys while managing the process from audit to structural analysis.Tower Strengthening Project: Key Role within project management team responsible for the strengthening of 300+ telecom towers in Tanzania during one calendar year, Responsibilities included, vetting and QA check of local contractors for approval within the project. The organization of weekly management and contractor meetings while also taking part in the on-site QA function of the work being carried out to ensure quality across contractors.Holding regular presentations to internal and client management teams.Carried out monthly invoicing of completed works along with KPI reporting.
