I work with children at risk for academic failure or diagnosed with specific learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Disorder and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder. In my tutoring sessions I use a multi sensory approach addressing the student’s personal learning style. I also collaborate with teachers to create goals and a learning environment that is in accordance with and enhances each child's particular strengths while targeting his or her needs. Outreach is integral to my approach and may include community based programs and parent/student support groups. In addition, I encourage students to become integrated into the school community and support the development of relationships important for social, emotional and academic growth .
