Art Teacher
Current• Build relationships with 500-600 students to best understand them and create lessons that fit their needs and interests.• Design student-driven, project-based units with a focus on creative thinking, collaboration, and problem solving based on the Teaching for Artistic Behavior framework and the SOLs.• Adapt lessons for exceptional education students in both inclusive classrooms and adaptive art classes.• Differentiate instruction through one-on-one instruction, segmented lessons, adaptive tools, and multimodal resources that relate to the students’ lives.• Provide instruction to students both virtually and in-person, synchronously and asynchronously.• Plan school-wide events celebrating the arts in education, including annual STREAM Nights and Art Nights.• Represent the school with artworks in local educational and community business settings.• Integrate technology through the use of Microsoft Teams, Google Apps, Promethean, iMovie and web camera technologies.• Sat on the leadership team, STREAM committee, Deeper Learning Professional Learning Community, Lighthouse team, and Decorating Committee.
